About Me! (Wendi)

Hi! My name is Wendi , and I am 10 years old. I'm in 4th grade. (In the picture above, I am holding my new baby sister, Paige.) My favorite things to do are: playing with (all) my sisters and hanging out with my friends and family and playing on pixiehollow.com! My best friend is Hannah Jones, we've been in the same class since kindergarden, and been friends before kindergarden! So we are pretty good friends. I love doing stuff with Hannah! (We are also both Mormon so we can understand eachother.)

My Girls

These are my 4 girls. In high school, when dreaming of my perfect family, I planned on having 5 boys. Boy am I glad that we're not always blessed with what we plan! My two big girls, Wendi and Emily are like my two hands, I don't know what I would do without them! Today they went over to a friend's house and were gone all day. They are getting so big and having them gone all day on their social errands made me realize that. I really missed them! Life is ever surging forward but I wish that I could press the pause button. In this moment of time Paige is my sweet baby girl that I hold in my arms, Abbie is my funny 3 year old who still gives big hugs and kisses and her antics make us all laugh. Emily has such a kind heart. She plays with the little children and also makes us laugh with her funny impressions and voices. Wendi is my responsible girl always asking, 'What can I do to help mom?" and wanting to hold Paige. They are still all my sweet girls in this moment, they all still play with little toys and fight over who sits by dad and who gets to snuggle first. I wouldn't mind a pause button in this moment.

You know you've arrived when...

Abbie is our supercalifragilistic 3 and a half year old. She and Keith got into a heated debate today, each trying to "top" the other. It all started because I told Keith a Nintendo DS cost over a hundred dollars. Keith says, "What if I had a hundred dollars, I would buy a Nintendo DS" Abbie who is never to be outdone says, "What if I had a hundred million, million, million dollars and a lots of toys and barbies" Keith countered in kind and Abbie came back with "I would have a lots of toys, barbies AND cars AND a lots of money AND bubblegum, lots of bubblegum AND...Wallpaper!

I really don't know how Keith could top that and he must have agreed because he pretended to lose interest in the conversation and ended the debate.

I was left questioning...How does Abbie even know about wallpaper?

Halloween!

This year Wendi and Emily found costume ideas in Family Fun magazine. Emily was a jellyfish which we created using a sombrerro, fabric and ribbon. Wendi was a gypsy and enjoyed wearing big hoop earrings and fake nails. I am particularly proud of Keith's costume...he of course was jedi. I sewed his jedi robe using a tutorial I saw online. When he put it on he got a big smile on his face and said he felt like a real jedi...these are the moments that are so satisfying as a mother and amatuer seamstress. Abbie was Cinderella and was only disappointed that she didn't get to wear her "clacky" dress up shoes to trick or treat in- (she kept tripping when she wore them to her preschool Halloween party). The kids got tons of candy which I have been stealing all week. Alan's mom put on a fabulous Halloween party where the kids decorated cupcakes, did a treasure hunt, bobbed for donuts on a string and other fun games. The kids all said it was the best Halloween ever! P.S. Paige did not have a costume because she just stayed in the stroller all night and let's face it...I was a little worn out getting 4 kids all decked out...she will make her Halloween debut next year.

Wow! How time flies!

Oh my goodness! I can't believe it's been an entire year since I posted on my blog! Oops! Well, I read an article recenlty in a magazine about a family blog...I really liked the idea so I am going to try to implement the idea. The family used their blog as a kind of family journal. I think the kids will love the idea. They will be posting and writing and I think it will be great! So here's to adding one more thing to my life! Yippee!
